    donate Coffee Strong is a veteran-owned, veteran-operated GI coffeehouse. Veterans provide a safe place for soldiers to share the effects of disastrous wars, within 300 meters of the gates at Ft Lewis. The unique coffeehouse welcomes soldiers with a free cup of coffee. There is access to the Internet, an informative library, and many referrals are available to community resources, including GI Rights counseling and Veterans Benefits. Free legal and educational resources are available.

  • The African American Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Association http://www.aaptsdassn.org/ is a non-partisan, non-profit, 501(c) 3, National Veteran’s Service Organization.When it comes to helping Veterans with paperwork and VA claims there is no other organization more dedicated.
  • Iraq Veterans Against the War http://www.IVAW.org founded by veterans in 2004 to give a voice to the large number of active duty service people and veterans who are against this war, but are under various pressures to remain silent. From its inception, IVAW has called for an immediate withdrawal of all occupying forces in Iraq; Reparations for the destruction and corporate pillaging of Iraq so that Iraqi people can control their own lives and future; and Full benefits, adequate healthcare (including mental health), and other supports for returning servicemen and women.

  • Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America http://www.OpTruth.org nation’s first and largest group dedicated to the Troops and Veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the civilian supporters of those Troops and Veterans.
  • National Gulf War Resource Center http://www.NGWRC.org international coalition of advocates and organizations providing information, support and referrals for all those affected by the complexities of current and recent combat operations (1990 to current).
  • Veterans Against the Iraq War http://www.vaiw.org/vet/index.php is “a coalition of American veterans who support our troops but oppose war with Iraq or any other nation that does not pose a clear and present danger to our people and nation.”
  • Veterans for Common Sense - http://www.VeteransForCommonSense.org an organization by war veterans who believe that we, the people of the United States of America, are most secure when our country is free, strong, and responsibly engaged with the world.
  • Veterans For Peace http://www.veteransforpeace.org includes men and women veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, other conflicts and peacetime veterans. “Our collective experience tells us wars are easy to start and hard to stop and that those hurt are often the innocent. Thus, other means of problem solving are necessary.”

We will do all we can to prevent another generation from being put through a similar tragedy and we will continue to demand dignity and respect for veterans of all eras. Veteran Centers

  • http://www.va.gov/RCS Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling and outreach services to all veterans who served in any combat zone. Services are also available for their family members for military related issues. Vet Center staff are available toll free during normal business hours at 1-800-905-4675 (Eastern) and 1-866-496-8838 (Pacific).
