Missed out on previous ‘War is Trauma’ art showings? Now’s your chance to see this veteran art portfolio at Seattle Central Community College! The M. Rosetta Hunter Art Gallery at SCCC will host the portfolio from February 26th through March 21st, with an opening from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday February 27th. The opening will include representatives from Coffee Strong sharing more about our efforts to stand up for service members and veterans rights. Special thanks to Susan Platt for sharing her copy of the portfolio with Seattle Central.
War Is Trauma is a portfolio of handmade prints produced by the Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative in collaboration with the Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW). For this project over 30 artists have each created a print that addresses “Operation Recovery,” its larger goals of supporting service member and veterans right to heal, GI resistance, challenging the culture of militarism in the US, and ending the war in Afghanistan.
